Ingeborg is at the hospital now for two days. They gave her tablets to get all started, but after many hours of pain and exhaustion nothing happend. So this afternoon (31 May) they gave some heavy stuff into her blood directly to speed it all up. If the baby is not born this evening or night (european time) the will perform a ceasarian.
To all the friends who are caring about her, please send some energy to her.
I will inform you while possible (I am a friend of Ingeborg) .
Kind regards
Lydia
if anyone want to email, please write to beaubabbelt@hotmail.com or the known adres of Ingeborg.

Hello everybody. It took a while, but I am back online. I am also back in the Netherlands and had a rough start here. Things such as a home are still not arranged; it's just not easy. But the good news is that I am healthy and so is my baby, although still in my belly. Tiki doesn't want to come out !
It can't be much longer. I'll keep you posted !

Baby, You Can Drive My Car !

I bought a car ! On the photo below you can see my new toy on wheels:

Alright, alright, that is not really entirely true. If you dream, dream huge.
But I do have a car. I bought it at a car market in Auckland on november the 7th. It is an Subaru Justy from 1985 with 4 wheel drive ! And it works, that is the best part. According to the Tjech couple I bought it from, the car is a boy and has a name. His name is Barik. So I decided to leave it like that. Here a picture of my new boyfriend Barik:

It's not exactly my car, but close enough to give you an idea.
The colour is not grey, but dark silver, just so you know.
I needed to buy a car to get a job, because it was very hard to get a job without owning a car.
Of course it is very hard to buy a car without having a job, so what to do ? I took the risk, used my creditcard and spend my almost last money on it. Luckely, it worked out allright.

A week ago I had a job interview at the Mercure Grand Puka Resort in Pauanui, in the Coromandel Peninsula region (still North Island). The interview went well and the restaurant manager Stefan asked me to stay in the neighbourhood and he would let me know on thursday. So I camped in Whangamata, half an hour away from Pauanui. There was a gorgious beach over there and the weather was fantastic, so I had fun.

On thursday I received the news that I was hired as a waitress at the Mercure Grand Puka Resort and I could also use one of their rooms for staff accomodation. The resort is in the middle of a forest and with a view on the beach and part of the village.

You can take a look at their website to get an idea:

Beautiful surroundings any way. I am really glad I escaped Auckland, which I didn't really like that much. Just another city, while there are so many lovely other places I have to explore in this country.
Till next update !

Landed in KIWI Land !

Auckland, New Zealand

Hey everybody ! Some people are very very happy to find out I've finally left Aussie, althought I know some of you will miss me. No worries, I am still on the right side of the tropic of capricorn and I have my connections through out all of Australia ofcourse, so be scared if you have a bad conscience.
Anyway, I arrived here in Auckland yesterday, the 13th, late afternoon, after a very relaxed flight. It is a lot colder here; approximately 17 degrees and it is cloudy at the moment, so I am hoping for the sun to come out soon. Starbucks makes up for a lot I have to say. Tomorrow I will go job hunting and I'll keep you posted. I know I haven't been writing very much lately, but better late than never. Feel free to leave a comment or a message. Catch up with you later !

INTRODUCTION

Hi, I am Ingeborg (hard to pronounce, I know, but so be it) from the Netherlands. At the 6th of march I got on an airplane to go on a journey that will take me a year; starting in Bali, going to Australia, New Zealand and Thailand.

On this blog I will mention shortly where I am and what I am doing. This is for all the people that don't understand a single word of Dutch and are curious about my travelling adventures.
The extended versions are all written in Dutch on http://www.boriginal.blogspot.com
Sorry, don't have time to do it twice in two languages, but still want to let you know what's happening.

In case of any mistakes: only complain when you don't understand it or learn Dutch and read the Dutch version. Really easy: Kangaroe = kangaroo for example, geen zorgen = no worries.

GETTING STARTED:

After a very long flight which started in Amsterdam I arrived on Bali at the 7th of March. I enjoyed Bali very much. To me Bali has been wonderful, beautiful and the people are very hospitable and friendly. Check out my pictures for the lovely scenery I have been seeing.

After 11 days of lovely Bali I arrived in Melbourne on friday the 19th of March.
Because my cousin Saskia lives in Adelaide, I decided to get the first flight into Adelaide, as I had not seen her in two years. That was a happy reunion !

Saskia and I had a great time together. I got a job at Schenker's Warehouse. Saskia workes there too and she is the import manager.
I worked together with Matt and Tracey and had a great time. Thank you both !
